Taping Order

Short version: Taping Order collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Everything you enter — board plans, paint colors, photos, and log entries — stays only on your own device.

What the app stores, and where

Taping Order is an offline planning tool for people who paint barn quilt boards. All of the information you create in the app is written only to your device's local storage:

Your board plan: the block you picked, the board size, the grid type, and the paint color assigned to each patch.
Named paint colors you add to your palette.
App settings, such as recoat time, coats per color, measurement display, and haptics/sound preferences.
Your painting log: finished boards and trail visits you save, each with its block, colors, location notes, and dates.
Photos you attach to a log entry or trail visit, copied into the app's own private storage on your device.

None of this information is transmitted anywhere. It is never uploaded to a server, never shared with any other app or company, and never used for advertising. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

Camera

Taping Order asks for camera access only when you tap the option to photograph a finished board or a barn quilt you spotted on a trail. The photo is saved directly into your log entry on your device. The app does not access the camera at any other time and does not use photos for any purpose beyond your own log.

Photo library

When you choose to attach an existing picture instead of taking a new one, Taping Order uses Apple's system photo picker. This picker hands the app only the single photo you select — the app never receives a listing of your library and never scans it in the background.

Notifications

Taping Order can send a local notification when a recoat timer you started finishes, so you know a coat is ready to paint over or tape is ready to pull. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device. Permission is requested only the first time you start a timer, and no notification content or usage data ever leaves your device.

Data we do not collect

No account or sign-in of any kind.
No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking.
No advertising identifiers and no third-party advertising SDKs.
No location data.
No contact information, and no data is linked to your identity.

Our App Store privacy declaration for this app is "Data Not Collected," and it is kept consistent with this policy.

Children's privacy

Taping Order does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all. The app is a general-purpose planning tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
